Experience

Shannon Golden-Schubert is a transactional attorney specializing in licensing and negotiating research and commercial contracts for technology, science and e-commerce businesses. She represents both emergent and established companies as they move from entity formation to capital raises, asset acquisitions and sales, core technology licensing and commercialization activities. Having spent the bulk of her career working on the client side, she understands the legal and operational needs of a growing company, including how to balance business interests with legal risk, and maximize the often limited legal resources of an entrepreneurial organization.

As lead in-house counsel for a biotech company in Colorado, she developed and directed the legal strategy for global clinical trials, negotiated key agreements including licenses, discovery-stage research collaborations, outsourced preclinical activities through Phase III trials, supply and manufacturing agreements, software platform licenses, medical education grants, unrestricted research grants, and more.

With her background in-house and now in private practice, Shannon offers her clients a unique perspective on managing and capitalizing on legal issues. She enjoys collaborating with her clients on entity formation, product and technology licensing, manufacturing/supply agreements and strategic alliances, while providing operational legal support for businesses at each stage of their evolution. An important element of her work is advising scientists on how to maintain leadership over their deals. This gives them confidence in the legal defensibility of their transactions and their ability to maintain the rights to the results anticipated by their work plan.

At the core of Shannon’s practice is her commitment to client service. She recognizes that clients not only expect outstanding work product, but also a high level of attentiveness and dedication, which she values as well.

In addition to practicing law, Shannon spends her time with her four young children, teaching and practicing yoga, supporting non-profits and catching up on current events.
