Mr. King's practice focuses primarily in the areas of land use and real estate development. As one of Boulder, Colorado's most recognized legal figures, Mr. King was the City Attorney for Boulder, Colorado. He has been a partner in prominent Boulder law firms since 1966, including King and Eller, P.C. and Porzak Browning & Johnson LLP.
Dovetailing legal expertise with business acumen, Mr. King was also a partner of Wyatt Associates, an office building developer in Boulder, Colorado, and is currently a partner in Cheyenne Energy, an oil and gas exploration company. Mr. King served on the board of directors for Norwest Bank in Boulder from 1969 to 1999; the Board of Visitors, University of Colorado School of Law; the Law Alumni Board, University of Colorado School of Law, where he served as chairman from 1982 to 1983; BIOSTAR Medical Products, Inc.; Midland-Western Federal Savings & Loan Association Advisory Board; National Institute of Municipal Law Offices, where he served as State Chairman from 1962 to 1965; and Mountain Savings & Loan Association. Mr. King is also a past president of Downtown Boulder, Inc. and the Boulder Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. King was born in Denver, Colorado. He attended Dartmouth College and the University of Colorado. He received his L.L.M. degree from the University of Colorado School of Law. Mr. King is admitted to the state courts of Colorado, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, and the United States Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit.
Mr. King is a long-time resident of Boulder, Colorado, where he and his wife have raised 5 children.
