Jacob Hill is an associate at Berg Hill Greenleaf & Ruscitti. His practice envelops all types of litigation, with a particular emphasis on patent, trademark, copyright and complex commercial litigation. Mr. Hill also has significant experience in antitrust, securities, product liability, white-collar criminal and mass tort litigation, as well as corporate transactions and entity formations. Mr. Hill has experience in all phases of trial work, including discovery, motions practice, depositions, pre-trial and trial work. He has taken and defended the depositions of fact and expert witnesses, has drafted numerous dispositive briefs and motions, successfully argued many of those motions, and has examined several witnesses in trials and arbitrations. His representative cases range from small contract disputes to multi-billion dollar securities and patent disputes.

Prior to joining Berg Hill Greenleaf & Ruscitti, Mr. Hill practiced at two large international law firms: Jones Day in Dallas, Texas, and Cooley Godward Kronish in Broomfield, Colorado. At Jones Day, he was heavily involved with the firms' high-tech and telecommunications clients, including Dell, Nokia, Texas Instruments, EDS, Lucent Technologies and Value-Added Communications. His experience there included several trials and arbitrations, including the successful defense of an alleged breach of a patent portfolio agreement (affirmed by the Delaware Supreme Court), a favorable arbitration award in an arbitration regarding a post-closing adjustment, and numerous successful dispositive motions before post-trial settlement in a complex case involving intellectual property rights over various telecommunications technology. At Cooley Godward, he was involved in favorable settlements in a white collar criminal matter and a contract dispute involving the alleged breach of a manufacturing agreement.

Mr. Hill was raised in Orem, Utah and graduated from Brigham Young University with a BS in International Relations with an Economics Emphasis and a Minor in Asian Studies. He graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in December 2003, where he obtained the highest grade in International Refugee Law and International Business Transactions. He is admitted to practice in Texas, Colorado, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, and the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. He currently resides in Erie with his wife and three children and enjoys spending time with his family, travel, skiing, all sports, hiking and reading.
